It's the Thanksgiving long weekend and I'm feeling inspired to write about all the things I'm thankful for. When I start thinking about it though, my list ends up being quite long. My friends, my family, my health, my job etc, etc, etc. So instead of re-writing the book on being blessed and knowing it, I've decided I'll be thankful for this day. To live in the moment and to be present. Today I'm thankful for the sun on my face, the fresh air filling my lungs, the sound of my son laughing. I'm thankful for the changing of the seasons and the wonderful colours all around me. I'm thankful time slowed down for a minute and nothing mattered but leaves falling to my feet. I'm thankful for days like these.
"I do know how to pay attention,
how to fall down in the grass, how to kneel down in the grass,
how to be idle and blessed, how to stroll through fields,
which is what I've been doing all day.
Tell me, what else should I have done?
Doesn't everything die at last and too soon?
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?"
